FAQ: What are custom fields and how do I add them?

SimplyMerit has an expansive built-in database of fields. If you need something different from what it offers, you can create an unlimited number of custom fields to allow your data to be ingested.

Under Config > Custom Fields, you can add or remove custom fields. Think of these as the headers on your CSV columns.

Creating custom fields must follow these guidelines:

• Not already in our database
• All lowercase letters
• Start with a letter

• Underscores instead of spaces

Once created, you can upload your data under Config > Data Import. To delete a custom field from your environment, click the trash can icon to the right of it.
