This guide explains how to reset your SimplyMerit password and how to avoid being locked out of your account after multiple failed login attempts, and what to expect if your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO).
Resetting Your SimplyMerit Password
If you forget your password, first type in your email address and click Log In. Then, select the link directly underneath the Password field, entitled “Forgot your password? Click here.”
This will initiate the password reset process, allowing you to create a new password.
Understanding Account Lockout Behavior
SimplyMerit will automatically lock your account after three invalid login attempts.
If your account becomes locked, you must wait 15 minutes before attempting to log in again.
Regaining Access After a Lockout
After the 15-minute lockout period, you may regain access by either:
Logging in with the correct password, or
Triggering the password reset process described above
It is critical to wait the full 15 minutes before attempting any additional login actions.
SimplyMerit will automatically unlock your account once the lockout period has ended.
Logging In Using Single Sign-On (SSO)
If your organization has enabled Single Sign-On (SSO), you may not need to manage a SimplyMerit password.
When SSO is enabled:
You will log in using your organization’s standard authentication method. Either use the SimplyMerit icon in your SSO dashboard, or visit https://app.simplymerit.com, enter your company email address, and click Log In. This will route you to your company's SSO login
Password resets are managed by your organization’s IT or identity provider
The “Forgot your password?” link in SimplyMerit will not apply
If you experience login issues while using SSO, contact your organization’s IT team or SimplyMerit HR Administrator for assistance.
What to Expect Next
Once you have successfully logged in, you can resume managing your team, entering recommendations, and completing approvals.
If you continue to experience access issues, contact your organization’s SimplyMerit HR Administrator for assistance.
