This guide explains how managers can view their direct reports and broader span of control using the My Org tab in SimplyMerit.
Accessing the My Org Tab
Managers can view their team structure and reporting hierarchy by navigating to the My Org tab after logging in to SimplyMerit.
Viewing Your Direct Reports
Direct reports will appear in the first table on the My Org tab.
This table provides an at-a-glance view of the employees who report directly to you.
Expanding and Collapsing Reporting Hierarchies
On the My Org tab, hierarchy views for a manager’s direct reports who oversee other employees can be expanded by selecting the “+” next to an employee’s name.
The hierarchy can be collapsed again by selecting the “–” icon.
This allows managers to easily navigate between high-level and detailed views of their organization.
Navigating Other Teams Within Your Span of Control
Other teams that fall within a user’s span of control can be viewed by selecting the name of a team’s manager on the My Org tab.
For example, selecting a manager’s name will navigate you to that manager’s team view.
Understanding Hierarchy View vs. Budget View
Hierarchy View
The Hierarchy View allows managers to navigate their reporting hierarchy to view summary and detailed information.
It also serves as the workflow engine for the approval process.
Budget View
The Budget View focuses on budget summary information for each manager’s organization and team view.
